Who We Serve
We serve customers in Chicago, northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin who need prime locations for disposal of excavated bulk materials, as well as recycled stone or other hardscaping or landscaping materials to support site development. We work with municipalities, townships, public works, and golf courses – and smaller project crews too, such as home excavators, landscapers, and concrete and brick contractors.

Founder Story
CHDS founder Dan Powell is fascinated by earth. After studying fire science, he began a flatwork concrete business when he was 18 years old, expanding over the next 30 years to include hauling, excavation, land development and materials recycling. Today, Dan and his crew enjoy working to harness the power of land under his mantra of “renew, rethink, reinvent” to help CHDS customers complete projects, build dreams and grow their success.
What You Can Expect Working With Us
Convenience: “drop and shop” convenience. Haul your job site waste and debris to us, and pick up the construction materials you need. We pay for broken concrete! We also accept broken asphalt, brick, dirt and topsoil.
Quality: we specialize in state-approved recycled materials and aggregate products that other yards don’t offer, such as IDOT-approved materials (CA6) and recycled stone equivalents. Our triple-ground premium mulch and topsoil surpasses quality requirements.
Customized: we make custom blends of mulch, topsoil, compost and stone – if you need it, we make it.
Customers: we’re known for top-notch service. Once our customers work with us, they return again and again.
